Risen Savior Family,

Much has happened in the last 24 hours concerning efforts to curb the spread of the Corona virus.  Governor Ducey has closed all of the public schools, the CDC is now recommending that events with over 50 people be cancelled or postponed, and today President Trump recommended that for the next 14 days we not gather in groups greater than 10.

In response, the staff along with Governing Board President Mark Milne met this afternoon to decide how to respond.  We concluded that we would suspend all activities of Risen Savior for the next two weeks.  Specifically:

  • Wednesday Lenten worship services will not be held for the next two weeks.
  • Sunday worship services will be offered online not in person. We will provide more details in the next day or two.
  • All Bible classes, Forum, and various groups will not meet for two weeks.
  • The church office will remain open to assist you in any way.

The reasoning behind this decision is as follows:

  • Desire to comply with the recommendation of the CDC
  • Realizing that we have an older population who are more susceptible to the virus and suffer greater complications if they have contracted COVID – 19
  • Recognizing that through technology we could offer an alternative, albeit not the same, to in person worship.

We will continue to monitor the situation and communicate with you in a timely manner.  Please look for another communication later this week about our Sunday morning online worship opportunity.

 In Christ,

Pastor Ron                                         Mark Milne
Senior Pastor                                     Governing Board President
