The Arizona Private School Tuition Tax Credit Law allows a married couple filing jointly to make a donation up to $1000 each year to the Arizona Lutheran Scholarship Organization, Inc. and receive a dollar for dollar tax credit against their Arizona State income tax. The new withholding tax reduction law will become effective January 1, 2010. It allows individual income taxpayers to authorize their employer(s) to reduce their state withholding tax amount in order to make donations to a charitable organization, public school, and/or a school tuition organization.
