Pentecost: The Power to Come Our of Our Shells

Today we celebrate Pentecost which had its origins in the Old Testament where it was called Shavuot which was a thanksgiving for the first fruits of the wheat harvest, and later it was later associated with a remembrance of the Law given by God to Moses on Mount Sinai. In the New Testament it is the 50th day after the Sabbath of Passover week when the Holy Spirit was poured out among the people who were gathered together in one place and they were then able to speak in other tongues. It is also the birthday of the Christian Church since over 3000 people became believers. Today we will note that the same Spirit comes to us and allows us to step out of our shells.

Serve on Sunday

Planning Center is the way in which Risen Savior schedules our volunteers for Sunday services; including all Ushers, Greeters, Altar Guild, Communion Assistants, and Readers.

In order for you to volunteer in any of these positions, you must have a Planning Center profile set-up.  If you are new to volunteering at Risen Savior, you will need to contact the church office with your name and e-mail.  The office will send you a Welcome email from Planning Center, which contains instructions on how to set up your Planning Center profile.
