Awaiting Grace: Waiting in the Promise

Ron Burcham | December 3, 2023

In Genesis 12, God made a life-changing (world-changing, history-changing) promise to a guy by the name of Abram that he will become a great family and that all of the nations of the earth would be blessed through his family. How long did they have to wait for that promise to become a reality? It took about 40 years, but God did exactly what he promised. The Advent truth for us is that when God promises something, it’s going to happen. God’s Word is true and trustworthy. God’s promises may not come to reality as soon as we would like them to, but we wait in Advent knowing that we can put our faith and trust in the promises of the Bible, because we can put our faith and trust in God.
